The End of Spring Soccer 09

Molly's first season of soccer ended on a bit of a sour note. Even though her Mimi got to watch the game and she played one of her best friend's teams, Molly had a bad, bad morning. It was about 50 degrees, her field was completely in the shade and it was super windy... Everyone was freezing, but Molly and a little boy on the other team were the only ones crying on the field! We didn't let her quit, but other than the quarter when she got to play goalie, she was miserable and kept begging us to let her go home.

Fun-filled weekend!

I had a wonderful start to my weekend with girl's night Friday night at a paint-your-own pottery place. Due to all kinds of sickness, travel and kid related issues, only 4 of us made it, but we had a great time!

Saturday morning Molly had another soccer game. She only has one more game this weekend and we're hoping it doesn't get rained out!

After soccer we headed down to the Kemah Boardwalk to celebrate Jackson's 5th birthday with his family. Even though the place was packed with spring-breakers we still had a great day. The kids enjoyed an awesome meal at the Aquarium, tons of sweet treats, and a mountain of prizes won at the carnival games.
Sunday morning we headed to Bellville for Kaya's hippy-themed 2nd birthday party.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Last year we started a tradition where we made a comfy leprechaun bed in case one of the little guys needed a place to sleep while he spread St. Patrick's Day cheer. Daddy explained to Molly that Leprechauns are tricky little guys who are really sneaky because they don't want anyone to steal their pot of gold. We warned Molly that she probably wouldn't get a chance to see the Leprechaun because they are so sly. Last year, as thanks for the comfy place to sleep, the Leprechaun left Molly some Irish treats and a few gold coins, but of course he also played a trick on her by tying the laces together on all of her shoes!Last night we laid out the same comfy little bed and pillow from last year and a shamrock picture Molly made. But this morning, she was almost in tears when she woke up, because she saw that no treats had been left for her. Once she looked closely at the little bed, she saw that she had been left a note and a picture of the kitchen in her playroom...As we followed the first clue downstairs Molly commented "The Leprechaun must have a tiny little green camera!"After discovering nearly 25 clues, Molly finally found her treasure... some gold candies and craft beads, shamrock tattoos and her favorite treat - the Leapster Star Wars reading game (which will come in very handy on our flight to California next month! Thanks Leprechaun!)
