Two Months Old

On September 29th, Marshall turned two months old. That same day he was schedule for his two-month shots and since he was exhausted and didn't feel very well after getting jabbed, this is one of the only pictures I took of him that day.

At his doctor's appointment he weighed 12 lbs, 13.5 oz and was 23.75 inches long! He's in the 75-90th percentile for head, weight and height and is already wearing 3-6 month clothes! Such a big boy!


The next day (on his cousin's birthday!) We took his official two-month photos with his puppy.

All smiles! I swear, he's one of the happiest babies I've ever been around!
What a handsome little man, I think he's starting to look just like his daddy!

Fall Soccer

Once again it's soccer season!
Here are some shots from Molly's first week of practice and the first game of the season.

Molly's Second Haircut

Wednesday morning I noticed some hair on the floor and at first didn't think much of it since we live with a cat, but at second glance I noticed that it didn't quite look like Murphy's hair. I quickly picked up what turned out to be a thin lock of Molly's hair!

I quickly found Molly and asked, "Did you cut your hair?!?" in a slightly angry and totally freaked out voice (while picturing her with one long ponytail and one spiky-short one) She got really anxious and told me that she had, indeed, cut her hair. Turns out the night before (after we had completed a craft and were cleaning up), I asked her to very carefully put the grown-up scissors back on my desk. Apparently, curiosity got the best of her, and she snipped off a little bit of hair.

Recently, we went to a birthday party where two of Molly's friends were sporting shorter hair-dos than normal. This was because they had both given themselves haircuts. Luckily, you can't even tell where Molly cut her hair. After explaining that it was dangerous to handle Mommy's scissors and that she would have had to get a super-short haircut if she had cut off a bigger lock of hair, I pray she never tries to cut her hair again! In the meantime, my scissors are now locked in a drawer, and she is grounded from using her kid scissors for two weeks.

Bread and Butterflies

Molly used to tell us that she had butterflies in her tummy whenever she was nervous about going somewhere. After watching Alice in Wonderland we started calling them "bread-and-butterflies." This morning as we got Molly ready for school, Paul and I were both surprised when she told us she had one bread-and-butterfly in her tummy. When Paul asked why she was nervous about going to school, Molly replied, "I'm not nervous! He just wants to go to school with me!"

Sunday Sillies

Sunday morning Daddy followed up MiMi's Princess Leia pancakes with Yoda pancakes, Molly was so excited!
Sunday evening the Batemans came over to meet Marshall and brought the yummiest homemade fajitas!

Jackson ran straight to Marshall and asked to hold him right away.
Then Jackson and Angel sang lullaby songs to our little man. He was in heaven!

When Mr. Scott got his hands on Marshall, he cracked the little guy up!Angel made the mistake of showing Molly the light saber app on her iPhone.

Super-Fun Saturday

Today Molly and I spent the day together since MiMi was in town to help out with Marshall. I was so proud of the little man, he took two bottles without any problems while we were gone! After Molly started her day with a Princess Leia pancake that MiMi made her, we headed out to paint pottery. I decided to attempt a Cheshire Cat cup since Molly's birthday party is going to be an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party and Molly made Paul and me an Aggie mug to share. She also made herself a little orange Murphy kitty-cat. We had a lot of fun painting together, although Molly got a little restless since it took me so long to paint her cup! After our craft-time, we ran errands getting ideas for her birthday party. Then we made a quick trip home to make a bottle for Marshall before running back out the door to Caden and Marin's birthday party. We had a great time - Jenn always throws the best and cutest parties!

Aunt Dana, Scotty and Robbie came to visit for Labor Day weekend. Molly was so happy to have kids in the house for 4 days and I loved having an extra set of hands to help out with Molly and Marshall.We made a trip to the Halloween store to try on costumes.
Robbie decided to be a penguin, Molly will be Alice, but will NOT be trick-or-treating in this costume. This one is for dress-up at home ONLY.
Marshall was not amused with his prospects for this year. I offered him the pea pod costume and the cute tootsie roll and he declined them both.
Scotty decided to be the Cat in the Hat!
Scott LOVES being in the pool. I think he would have stayed in it all day, every day had we let him!

Sunday night we loaded up kids and the essentials and headed to Hannah's house for outdoor movie night with the neighborhood kiddos!

Being two of the most competitive people I know, it's no surprise that when Paul built a stick-house for Molly, Dana decided she had to construct an even better house - complete with winding walk-way, swimming pool and diving board. After Dana left Paul and Molly set out to beat her house and built this stick-mansion!
