Super Sunday

This Sunday was a big day for the Quin Family... We started the day off at church where Molly, Marshall and I were baptized. Ever since sweet Julia entered my life, heaven and the need for Christ in my life has become more of a reality for me. Mike Fry, one of the assistant pastors at our church, baptized Julia at our home when she was just 6 weeks old. We were so fortunate to have Mike baptize the three of us while Jane Petite assisted. Jane officiated Julia's funeral and was a very big part of our lives while Julia was here and after she passed.

During the service Mike and Jane arranged for a candle to burn on the baptismal font in memory of Julia. It was so sweet of them to make Julia a part of our baptism.

Brent and Lindsay were also present at our baptism, but for some reason I forgot to take pictures with them!!!

After our baptisms and a celebratory breakfast, we drove out to Katy to take pictures with Santa at Bass Pro Shop. The line was just a few kids deep and Santa was awesome! That evening I decided to give Marshall his first taste of baby food! We started off in the Bumbo seat, but after a few seconds little man was too slumped over to eat...
so we moved to the bouncy chair...
But then he got fussy and just wanted to nurse...After some milk, we tried again and he loved it!
Quite a big day for our little man, he turned 4 months old, got right with the Lord, met Santa and had his first taste of baby food!!!

Gobble, Gobble!

This year Thanksgiving was really laid-back and relaxing. Early Thursday morning (after two failed attempts to leave Wednesday night) Paul and Molly left for Anahuac where Molly experienced her first duck hunt. PawPaw and Daddy took her out into the field and according to Daddy she did really well until the hot chocolate ran out - then she was ready to head back to PawPaw's house. She loved being outside and especially the ride to their hunting spot on PawPaw's four-wheeler.

Everyone had a great time and Molly was a real trooper. Daddy said she was really patient and kept a good lookout for ducks. They said they saw a lot of birds, but didn't manage to bring any home.

Here are Daddy's pictures from the trip:

Ready to leave at 4:30am. Paul told me that when he woke Molly up at 4am she popped right out of bed and asked, "Daddy, what do you need me to do!?!?"

Mid-morning Marshall and I packed up and headed East to meet up with the family for our Thanksgiving feast with PawPaw, Auntie Cyndal and my dad, Grand-Pappy. Cyndal did an AMAZING job cooking dinner. Everything was sooo good, especially her cornbread stuffing and Mississippi Mud Pie! Mmmm! After we ate, PawPaw and Marshall both went down for naps while the rest of us played outside and enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon.

AGGIELAND!

We celebrated the end of Halloween season with a 4 day vacation in College Station with Nicole and her family. Mandy and Steve joined us and since Taylor and Jeni still live in the B/CS area, we all had a wonderful time catching up, chasing kids, watching some awesome football, celebrating a birthday and grumbling over how much Aggieland has changed since we were in school!

Paul was pretty shocked by the amount of stuff we had to take...Marshall's first snuggles from Tia LoulaOur first night we had dinner at Geoff and Jeni's where Marshall and Jorja got acquainted.
Nicole's aunt, Tia Loula, made the trip with Jon, Nicole and Rylee and agreed to be our nanny for the weekend. It was awesome and could not have worked out any better. We got two adjoining rooms and when Molly and Rylee weren't butting heads, they had so much fun playing together and doing all the fun crafts and activities that Tia Loula planned for them. While we were at the game, she had them making gingerbread houses and playing school!!! She is so fun and creative. Marshall also enjoyed all the snuggles and bottles they shared!

Marshall was so excited when we told him he'd get to go to the Chicken...

The girls got to check out Bottle Cap Alley and took a picture outside the Dry BeanFriday night we celebrated Grayson's 5th birthdayCambrey and her boysAfter the kids' party we headed to The Texas Hall of Fame for the Pat Green concert
The night was fun, Pat Green was awesome and we ALMOST got to see Geoff and Steve pummel a guy and Paul and I were proud of ourselves for staying out past 1am. We haven't done that in a really long time!Saturday morning we took the kids to March-In (where the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and Corp of Cadets march from the Quad into KyleField) which was really cool.
Molly LOVED it being the die-hard Aggie fan that she is.
After the game we went to Freebirds, where Jon experienced his first "real" burrito!Sunday morning the girls enjoyed room service before we all packed up to head home. The girls and their gingerbread houses that Tia helped them make!
I had such a fun time catching up with my girls and their families. It's so neat to watch our kids growing up together... it will be interesting to see where they all go to college after what I hope will become yearly indoctrination trips!
