11 Months

Wow, this is it. The last "monthly" blog post. I can't believe Marshall will be a one year-old in just 19 days. The last year has gone by so quickly and now that I think about today's date, it's amazing how quickly two years have flown by. We were at our absolute lowest moment two years ago today when sweet Julia passed away. It's amazing to look back and see how God's grace and love carried us to where we are now. One of my biggest worries when we lost Julia was that I would never again feel happy and "normal". I worried that every day would be full of grief and loss and while we do miss Julia beyond belief, we have been blessed beyond measure and our family is extremely happy and pretty dang normal!

Molly asked me a few nights ago if she should be in charge of telling Marshall all about Julia since she's the only one in the whole world who was lucky enough to be her sister while she was here. I told her that Daddy and I both think that's a great idea and we would love for her to make sure Marshall knows that his angel Julia will always be a part of our family.

Here is our darling little man, happy as can be at 11 months old. He's still on the verge of walking and pulls up and walks along the walls, furniture and baby gates. He's even been caught pushing a chair across the floor.
I got Marshall to smile and giggle in this round of pictures by waving around a hangerHere are pictures to remind me of my poor parenting moments.
This picture was snapped at the exact moment he shut his finger in the drawer:And seconds later...
I promise I did pick him up and love on him, but I just had to capture this sad little face. Little M loves nothing more than hanging out with Big M, even doing girly stuff like playing with dolls.
I know these pictures will be prime blackmail material in a few years.
Our busy little boy, always on the move! And always up to something... we looked over in time to watch him crawl up on the chair...Getting ready for his bath
Marshall LOVES anything having to do with water... even bath time.

He recently had his second haircut and we got him to sit still by sitting him on the edge of the sink with the water running.

When I took these pictures I realized I haven't taken any bath time pictures in a long time. Guess I just never think to bring the camera upstairs at night.

Switch Flops

This has been Molly's favorite fashion statement this summer and to be honest, I love it!

God Bless America!!!

We had a wonderful 4th this year! It started with a great morning at church, followed by several hours in the pool and was capped off with fireworks with good friends - once again at the HEB in Tomball.

Marshall and Jamie before the sun went down...
Avery enjoying her star-spangled party favorsMolly and Caden - he's VERY excited about the fireworks!Marshall was in an amazingly great mood all night!Avery throwing poppers - which we later found out are illegal inside Tomball city limits. Molly and Avery pretending to be robotsJamie playing "Ring Around the Rosie" with the kiddos
Avery LOVES her mommy!
Marshall was completely indifferent when the fireworks started
Avery, however, could barely contain her excitement!
Mrs. Danielle, I love you like a baby loves crackers!
Molly and Caden think they are soooo grown up!Marshall crashed almost as soon as we pulled out of the HEB parking lot!

When it Rains...

... we play!

Thanks to Hurricane Alex we got hit with three days of rain. Luckily nothing too bad, but it did cause a little cabin fever for the kids and me!
On Day 3 of the rain, we had a beautiful sunny break in the storm. Marshall was down for a nap so Molly quickly changed into her swimsuit to jump in the pool.... moments later the sky turned gray and it started coming down in sheets... since there was no lightening, I gave Molly my umbrella and told her to "GIT!" She looked a little shocked, but when she realized I was serious her face lit up and off she went. I think it's the most fun she's had all summer. She ended up playing in the rain for over an hour!
