First Day of Kindergarten

On August 23rd, Molly woke up bright and early and super-excited about her first day of Kindergarten at Yeager.

Daddy and I gave her a new bear whom she named Peace...
and a cute little Tinkerbell pencil bag. She quickly decided that Peace would live in her backpack and use the pencil bag as her sleeping bag. While Molly checked out her little goodies, Daddy got to work making an awesome 'first day of school' breakfast.... his famous french toast! What a big girl using her knife and fork properly!
Before we went outside to wait for the bus, Daddy had fun filming an interview of our excited little Kindergartner.Traditional picture standing on the mailbox:
Burning off some energy while we waited and waited on the bus...We had lots of time to take pictures since the bus was nearly 40 minutes late that first day! While we waited Ms. Hannah, Davis and Adalyn stopped by to wish Molly luck on her first day of school!
When the bus finally arrived, Daddy carried his little girl to the bottom of the steps...and about this time I started crying...and we later found out that about this time, Molly started crying...
8 loooooong hours later, the bus finally brought my baby girl back home. I was so happy to see her and loved watching her excitedly wave good-bye to her bus driver and new friends.
What a big girl, no longer a little pre-schooler!

Last Day of Summer

Mimi came to visit the last weekend in August for her nephew Kevin's wedding shower. Kevin and Shyanne will be getting married mid-October, so the family got together to help them celebrate.

Aunt Shirley was so excited to see the kids!
And Tracie is always eager to see her little boy:Despite the heat the ladies were eager to shop for Susie's handmade jewelry!
Marshall and Uncle Billy had some good male-bonding time:As soon as the cake was cut, Marshall enjoyed a tasty bite off of someone's plate... after that first bite he made the rounds on the look-out for someone eating cake and when he spotted them he'd put on his most charming smile and say "Mmmmmm!" which of course no one could resist. It's safe to say Marshall experienced his first sugar rush that afternoon.
and subsequently, his first sugar crash...Marshall and his cousin-to-be, Shyanne:
While Mimi was in town, she helped Molly make the most gorgeous necklace for me as a surprise!! She also helped Molly pick out an adorable bracelet!
Molly picked out this pendant and beads all on her own, she also decided which picture to use and what pattern to make with the beads.Since that Sunday was the official last day of summer, (school started the next day) we let Molly flag down the ice cream man and enjoy a Pink Panther treat before dinner.

(Notice all the pretty jewelry she made with her Mimi?)

Sarah-Jane

With the end of summer came the end of our time with Sarah-Jane, our awesome babysitter. She is one of the sweetest people I've met and is amazing with the kids. She's studying at Southwest Texas to become a teacher and after graduation she wants to be a tour guide for special needs kids at one of the Disney parks. She was learning sign language this summer and she and Marshall really enjoyed watching Signing Time together.

Sarah-Jane discovered that re-runs of Handy Manny always get Marshall to stop crying. The second he hears the theme song he starts to smile and dance. We will forever be grateful for this little trick!!!

We miss Sarah-Jane like crazy and can't wait to see her on her weekends home from college!
