Swim Meet #2

Molly had her second swim meet bright and early Saturday morning... I really had no idea what kind of time commitment swim team was when we signed up!! Paul took Molly to her first meet last week since I had a previously scheduled date with Lindsay and Danielle at the San Marcos outlet malls. I was shocked to learn that the meet started at 7am and ended around 11am. This week was no different. We got up to the pool by 7:15, made camp under a shady tree and waited with all the other families for our kid's first race.

I didn't get any good shots of her swimming, but this blurry one of her team-mate giving her the thumbs-up after Molly finished her leg made me laugh.Molly's second race was freestyle. She got a little nevous while waiting for her race on the ready-benches...Waiting for the buzzer...Swimming her little heart out... She swam the entire length of the pool without stopping once! We were so proud of her!! There were several 6 year-olds who had to take breaks during their lap.She came in FIRST in her heat!! She was so stinking proud of herself!! At the start of the meet the bigger girls spent a lot of time giggling while decorating each other's backs with Sharpies.

Pebble Beach Farmers Market is Open

*Yes, I am aware that you are about to read an entire post about a tomato... I get it, I'm a nerd.

Friday morning Molly and I excitedly checked the progress of our two ripening tomatoes. We've been waiting ever-so-patiently to enjoy the first piece of produce from our little garden! It's almost pickin' time!That night we just couldn't take it anymore so we decided to pick one of the tomatoes and let it ripen in our kitchen window for a few days.After a busy Saturday of Molly's swim meet and birthday parties, we came home to find this delightful little treat waiting for us. Molly could hardly wait for her first taste of a Quin home-grown tomato!Mmmmm, it was delicious! We all agreed it was one of the BEST tomatoes we've ever tasted. Right now there are at least 22 baby tomatoes on the vine and we can't wait to eat every last one of them. (OK, well just MAYBE we'll share a few with friends and neighbors!)

One Year Ago...

One year ago today we celebrated Julia's one month birthday. It was a special day for our little family and Molly really enjoyed helping get everything ready for her sister's pink-themed party.

It's hard to believe all that has happened since last May. I really couldn't imagine where we'd be a year from this very day. I am proud to say that today we love and miss Julia more than ever and that our family is still going strong. Our faith in God and all things good and heavenly is stronger than ever and I know our little Julia is smiling down at her mommy, daddy, big sister and little brother.

Visit with the Clawson Clan

On Monday my friend from college, Leslie, came to Houston with her husband, Nick and 3 year old son, Evan. Molly and Evan got along really well... Evan left with a new found knowledge of light sabers (life savers, as he called them) and Yoda.Natalie chilling in the new Quin kiddie pool
