Happy Birthday PawPaw!

A couple of weeks ago we drove to Anahuac to help PawPaw celebrate his birthday a few days early.

When we arrived, PawPaw had this little critter ready to meet Molly. She was intrigued and freaked-out all at the same time! That is one ginormous grasshopper!
After releasing the world's largest grasshopper back into the wild, PawPaw took Molly and me on our first air-boat ride. I really didn't know what to expect, but man, was it FUN!
While the three of us were out enjoying the air-boat, Paul stayed inside with Marshall. When we got home Paul looked more frazzled than I've seen him in a long time. Apparently, our little man decided to dismantle PawPaw's house... he tried to pull down mini blinds, repeatedly attempted to open a folding door the opposite direction that it's supposed to open and managed to smash a glass lamp to bits. His new nickname is "Distructo-the-wondo-kid"

Look at that devilish little grin!!!During dinner he repeatedly threw his sippy cup at Uncle Mo, tossed a good portion of his food on the floor and was only pacified when we gave him a rib bone to chew on. Ewwwwww.Aunt Wilma even tried to wrestle him for a bit!I think Marshall is saying, "Wait, look at that... there's something I haven't thrown, chewed on or smashed..."Paul has requested that I document his distaste for Marshall's sissy little "save the earth" outfit. Apparently it's not manly enough for our little distructo.Hope you had a happy birthday PawPaw! Sorry about the lamp and any other wreckage you might have discovered after we left!!!

Nicole and Jon's Big Day

Paul and I spent Memorial Day weekend in California. We had a fun little get-away centered around Nicole and Jon's wedding. I don't know if I can put it into words, but this wedding was incredibly special to me since Nicole is one of my dearest friends and not only do I love her, but I adore her new husband, Jon. I've been praying for Nicole to meet "the one" for years and I think I speak for all of Nicole's family and friends when I say our prayers were answered when Jon entered her life. Some of us even believe that Nicole's sweet mom, who passed away over 5 years ago, sent Jon to her. So yes, he's heaven-sent!

The wedding was amazing - it's now in our top three of most gorgeous weddings we've been to, including our wedding in Tahoe and Hugh and Krisit's spectacular mountain-top wedding in Aspen.

Seriously, how gorgeous are these two!?!?Look at Paul in the background... doesn't it look like he's wiping away tears? Nicole's dad's speech must have made him very emotional! Rylee cutting in on the father-daughter dance. Such a sweet moment!Paul and Tia LoulaMe and Tia!I have no idea why Jon's dad and I look like we're sharing a glass of wine...Me and my Beaner-DaddyNicole and Jon had a photo booth at the reception and Amy and Donny took my favorite pictures:
