A few weeks ago, on our way to a pool party, Molly asked me how the first person got here. I told her that God created Adam and Eve and that all the people on earth descended from them. She got very quiet and told me that didn't make any sense. I asked her why not and she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't get it. So I said, "Well Molly, Adam and Eve had lots of babies and their kids had kids..." at which point she exclaimed "OH! Eve was a GIRL!?!?! I thought Eve was a boy and that REALLY didn't make any sense!"

Last night's VBS message was "Be Content" and discussing the story of Adam and Eve on the way home opened up a great conversation with Molly about being thankful for and happy with what you have and the consequences of always wanting more or wanting to be like other people.
This week we are doubling down on VBS... Molly is attending John Wesley's VBS during the day and at night the three of us attend Grace's "Prime Time" VBS together. We're trying hard to remember and discuss all the messages from each lesson. So far we've got "God made everything," "God is Wonderful" and "Be Content". Six more lessons to go! Yikes!

Molly has me laughing with the Eve-being-a-boy thing. The things kids say/think! ;)
I guess she thought people were saying, "Adam and Steve"
