For several months Molly has been BEGGING for a new pet.
This note was part of her campaign to talk us into letting her go pet shopping.
Once school was out, we went to PetsMart and scouted out the lizards, fish, turtles, hamsters and rats. For a split second I was almost talked into buying a dwarf hamster, but luckily I came to my senses and Paul and I decided to let Molly have a Betta fish. We went to Aquarium World and Molly picked out the prettiest rainbow-colored fish, a small tank, fake plant, rocks and cute whale-house in which the fishy could hide. On the way home Molly named her new pet Rainbow Happy Quin and decided her nickname would be Fishalicious. Once home we set up Rainbow's new habitat and picked the perfect place for her to live.
Marshall could barely contain his excitement as we set up Rainbow's tank.

Unfortunately, this story ends almost as quickly as it began. We bought the fish on Friday. The following Saturday she was found dead in her tank. Of course she came with a 7 day warranty. Poor Molly was so upset. Paul and I helped her decide what to bury her in and where and Molly drew a pretty picture and had me write out all the things she loved about her.
Molly decided to fold the letter and put it in the box with Rainbow along with a pretty rock from her tank
