Two Weeks Have Just Flown By

Today our little man is two weeks old! He has brought us absolute joy since the second he was born. Now, you know we just adore Molly and always have, but let's just say she was quite a difficult baby. She screamed bloody murder for the first three months of her life. Seriously, all day and all night, there was very little you could do to soothe her short of constant motion and not sweet rocking either, but bouncing, swinging, rough stroller rides, driving over pot-holes and speed bumps kind of motion. Marshall could not be more different. He is such a content little guy and even when he's awake at all hours of the night, he's just so sweet. He cranks a little, but he's very easy to soothe and when he's awake he usually just looks around and makes some adorable faces. While Molly is super sweet with her new little brother, she is having some jealousy issues, which is to be expected... she's asked me if I love the baby more than her and she asked Paul if he thinks the baby is cuter than she is.

Here are some pictures from the last week:

Welcome Little One!

I am so very excited to announce that Marshall Benjamin Quin joined our family Wednesday July 29th at 8:53pm. His delivery was amazingly quick and easy. We got to the hospital Wednesday afternoon at 1:30pm and at 2:45 my nurse started the Pitocin drip to get labor going. By 7:30pm I was at 6cm and at 8:40 I was a 10! The doctor arrived a few minutes later and I started pushing around 8:45pm. I only had to push through 2 contractions and at 8:53pm Marshall easily and effortlessly made his debut. Paul scrutinized every inch of his body and quickly let me know that he was absolutely PERFECT! He weighed in at 8lbs 7oz and was 20.25 inches long. We both can't get over how amazingly blessed we are. He is such a sweet little guy, hardly cries or makes a fuss and when he does he's easily soothed and quickly falls back to sleep.

Molly has been so excited to meet her brother for several months now, and couldn't be more in love with him. She came running into the delivery room with a huge grin on her face after he was born and insisted on holding him and singing "Rock-a-bye-baby" to him right away. Since we've been home she loves checking on him and giving him kisses, although she holds her nose when she does it because apparenly he smells like play-dough to her. (We're not quite sure what that's all about...)

Here are some pictures to enjoy of our new little man and his first few days.... Honestly, I don't think we could be more in love with the little guy. He's an absolute joy and a true blessing from above!Patiently waiting for baby Marshall...

It's Show Time!

We've been waiting since 6am this morning to hear whether I am going to be induced today and I just got the good news that they have a room for me... They told us to be there about 1:30. Hopefully our little man will be born sometime this evening. We will keep everyone posted, and I'll do my absolute best to upload pictures as soon as I can!!

I pray things go smoothly and can't wait for Marshall's Blog debut!

Build-a-Bear

When Molly was born Brent, Lindsay and Jackson brought a cute little Build-a-Bear froggie named Fiona to the hospital and before Julia was born Molly made her sister a cute little monkey named "Monkey Mae". Last Monday we took Molly to the mall to build a stuffed animal for her brother. It was hard to decide on just one animal since there were so many from which to choose! Molly finally settled on a cute little puppy dog that she named "Pup-it-Up" (her last birthday was at Pump-it-Up, so maybe this was the inspiration?)

Daddy trying to help narrow down the selection:

I had to include these pictures of Molly and her froggie, Fiona:

Molly & Shiner

Paul's sister has officially declared her dog, Shiner, a member of the family and as such, feels he deserves as many framed pictures as PawPaw's other grandchild, Molly. This past Father's Day Cyndal gave her dad a framed picture of the pooch, which made me realize he needed a framed picture of Molly and Shiner together.

The photo shoot went pretty well, luckily Shiner is a VERY sweet and laid-back dog. It only took about 75 pictures to get the best shot... (Thanks to my cousin Jeremi for his photoshopping skills)
